Restaurant: Izakaya Taiyro

Konichiwa tomodachis!

another day, another restaurant! this new restaurant: Izakaya Tairyo : opened recently, and immediately caught the attention of many people, myself included, simply from the exterior of the restaurant. if you've passed by, there is no doubt that you have seen this place - you may not have known what it was, but you definitely have seen it.......

ring any bells? no? well, you will pass by it one of these days..... and when you do, you'll say, "wow, what a nice building. i wonder what is inside?"

whats inside, is a restaurant. an extremely Japanese restaurant. having dinner here, you almost feel like you're in Japan, which is neat :) if you notice, there are spelling errors all over this chalk board (which was in our private dining area). can you see how many?

the first thing we ordered was a steam-box dish........

inside the steam-box was Berkshire pork and vegetables that consisted mostly of won bok cabbage and bean sprouts.

this is my crab porridge. this was GOOD, filled with crab, egg, shitake mushrooms, seaweed, rice and green onion. good stuff!

we're waiting for our other dishes to come out. spotted here are the California roll, covered in tobiko, and the veggie platter.

here is one of my favorites! tako-yaki! sorry for the mess on my plate :P

in that pot you'll find miso chicken and assorted vegetables. the miso on this was really good, but salty at the end.

and whats this? ANOTHER restaurant serving honey toast? (this can also be found at Shokudo and Kit 'n' Kitchen). Geez, can't restaurants be creative these days? i love honey toast, but c'mon!!!! have your own signature desserts for cryin out loud!

overall, this place was not bad. i might visit again as they rotate their menu (which i understand is pretty frequent). try it if you like! i hear the sushi items are really good!
