on a recent visit to Palama Market, i stumbled upon a super deal. packaged Enoki mushrooms for only 79 cents each. 79 CENTS!! i had to buy some. i got 2 packages. looking back, i should have gotten more, but thats ok, perhaps they will have a sale again.....
so the mushrooms were sitting in my fridge when i realized i had no idea what i was going to do with them. i looked up some things on-line and didnt really see anything that i liked. most times, people apparently use enoki's as a garnish, and no necesarilly as the main part of a dish.
this would just not do for me. i decided to try an do a simple stir-fry, and used some steak i had in the freezer to "beef it up".
chopped up celery, green bell pepper, orange bell pepper and carrots. i was originally going to get a red bell pepper, but some weird reason, the market didnt have any, so i went with an orange one..... so sorry for the orange color overload.
i'm trying to experiment with very close up pictures..... i seriously need to get a better camera :P
a little left-over red onion (from when i made salsa). need a tip on how to keep the onion acids from making you cry? - i use a small battery operated fan while i chop, to blow away the vapors from my eyes. works every time!
stir-fry the vegetables in shoyu, oyster sauce, and fresh ground black pepper. throw in the meat, and cook till done......
add some white rice and its dinner time! the mushrooms came out a little bit chewy - i think because i might have cooked them too long, but this was still a really good meal!.jpg)
